You can most likely expect a live forum today. Once the forum is up and running and all of the quirks are fixed, this site will probably go down periodically, as we are going to transfer away from this messy blogspot to a real website. Keep the forum bookmarked once it's up. You will be able to chat, ask questions, and keep up with the progress of the site.

Forum is currently under construction, and looking real nice. Big thanks to 'Remorse' (as he will be called on the forums) for making it all happen. Expect it to go live in the next couple of days, most likely tomorrow if all goes to plan. Which, honestly, it hasn't. It's been being a real pain in the ass. Anyway, thanks everyone who has viewed the page. We're about to breach 900 views, and now with a flame growing under the community and a forum coming soon, things are about to take off. Remember, tell your friends, and keep sending me tutorial requests. I'll get them up as soon as possible if I can't reply to them in text.

About This Site
To the right you will see a list of terms, under 'Site Navigation'. Each video that is uploaded to this site is tagged with various keywords to inform you what the video entails. For example, if you're looking for videos on how to use the interface of RPG Maker, you would simply click the keyword "Interface", and the website will give you all videos tagged with that word. It's a fast, effective way to navigate the site.
The same goes for personal videos. If you've asked me through Youtube, email, or some other source, to make a video specifically explaining how to do something, you will find it by clicking your Youtube handle under the "Tags" list.
You will also find a Live Chat, as well as a Live Stream. The Live Stream will automatically stream my desktop and voice if I am doing a tutorial live. If not, you will just see colored bars.
If you would like to request a specific tutorial, or you need live help, feel free to contact me using one of the methods listed below.

RPG Maker XP - Basic Cutscene
This post might be a little confusing to some. It's pretty technical. This video covers a basic cutscene, which is where things happen in the game out of the player's control.
At the end, what I was saying, is that you need to make the block you step on have a condition in which a switch needs to be on. Have that switch turn on somewhere where it would only turn on once. Then when you step on the block, have it turn the switch off. That way, you can't keep stepping on that block and the cutscene keeps playing.
A helpful cutscene should be more advanced than this, and there should be a tutorial including the character, not just hiding them, and you should explain EVERYTHING, which from what I've seen you need to work on.
ReplyDeleteYeah this sucks! The video res is too small and the thing is crappy
ReplyDeleteDoes rpg maker XP include the codes that VX does? For example: If you put \| on the text for VX, in the game, there will be a pause there. Are there different codes for XP?
ReplyDeleteIt's still confusing. I keep trying, but it just bugs the screen, and keeps playing at the same time.
ReplyDeleteOh, I think i got a bit now.
